Applications for solid Neoprene Rubber strip

Neoprene rubber strip plays a crucial part in sealing and spacing components in a multitude of different industrial sectors. The added value that our bespoke range of neoprene rubber strips can offer is endless.

Neoprene rubber is a durable, solid rubber based product that is suitable for applications where weathering, mineral oils, or greases are apparent in common engineering and construction builds.

A general-purpose grade of solid rubber, neoprene rubber offers excellent acid resistance and has good resistance to ozone and oxidation.

Furthermore, being hard to tear or rip, coupled with its strong compression set, neoprene rubber is an excellent choice when being used on anti-shock or vibration deadening products.

At RH Nuttall Limited we supply neoprene rubber strip in small one off batches up to multi-thousand metre runs. Our state of the art slitting machinery allows for widths of neoprene rubber strips to start from 3mm wide, and we are capable of producing sections up to and including one metre wide.

Our cut rubber strip is then coiled into any length that is required, and can even be supplied in cut lengths if desired.

Our universal range of neoprene rubber strip is supplied predominantly in a black colour. Certain thicknesses of solid neoprene rubber strip can be supplied in a white colour too, but this is governed by stocks at any given time.

Thicknesses of our neoprene rubber strips can be from 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm and right up to 30mm in thickness, but this normally depends on our stock of base material at any given time, as well as the hardness and grade of neoprene rubber required.

Grades of Neoprene Rubber strips available

Our standard range neoprene rubber strip is supplied in commercial 65 degree shore hardness (SH) material, offering a flexible and malleable product that has a minimal amount of compression.

Various hardnesses of the base material are available from stock including 40SH, 50SH, 60/65SH, and 80SH, but again this is dictated by thickness. The lower the shore hardness of the neoprene rubber strip, the more compression it will have and therefore conversely the higher the shore hardness the lower the compression it will have.

If high compression is required, we would suggest our blown variant of neoprene rubber strip being supplied which is known as neoprene sponge or neoprene foam.

Furthermore, high grades of neoprene rubber are available to have strip work cut from, including BS2752 neoprene rubber which has a higher rate of neoprene rubber within its structure, offering more resistance on certain applications.

Neoprene rubber strip also have many other advantages than just sealing. Our range of neoprene rubber strips can be tailored to meet specific temperatures. Certain grades of neoprene rubber strips we produce offer temperature ranges of -30 to +120 degrees centigrade.

Standard Neoprene Rubber strips

Common sections of neoprene rubber strip are widely available including most increments of 10mm in width and 1mm upwards in thickness. Roll length can be tailored to suit your requirements, but normally these are supplied in 10 metre lengths.
