Polypropylene is made from polymerised propylene. RH Nuttall Limited manufacture and supply polypropylene washers, polypropylene gaskets, polypropylene sheet, and polypropylene strip. Polypropylene is one of the lightest thermoplastic materials currently available to buy. Although a relatively cheap material to produce our range of components from, polypropylene still has a strong reputation as a material with good tensile strength, malleability and abrasion resistance.

Moreover, our polypropylene washers and polypropylene gaskets are useful in applications where chemicals are involved. Polypropylene has a good resistance to inorganic chemicals, most strong mineral acids as well as water.

However, it is not suitable with certain types of gases and halogens. Due to its versatility polypropylene is most commonly used within the fittings and home appliance trades in forms of spacers and hinge guards. Due to its good electrical properties it also makes it suitable in a variety of electrical insulation applications.

RH Nuttall Limited are able to offer polypropylene washers, polypropylene gaskets, polypropylene sheet, and polypropylene strip in a white colour. Adhesive backing can be applied to one or both sides of any polypropylene component we produce.

General Characteristics

  • Cheap and reliable – Polypropylene is one of the cheapest thermoplastic materials currently available, but still able to suit a multitude of applications due to its properties.
  • Good electrical properties – Polypropylene is commonly used for electrical insulations.
  • Good abrasion resistance – Polypropylene has a better abrasion resistance than LDPE.
  • Weathering – Polyethylene is affected by sunlight and may deteriorate over a long duration. UV stabilisers can be added to prevent this from happening.
