Mylar is a polyester film that is used for its high tensile strength, chemical, and dimensional stability. Moreover, RH Nuttall Limited produce mylar sheet and mylar sheeting, mylar strip, mylar seals, mylar washers and mylar gaskets to act as barriers to aroma and gases as well as make use of its excellent dielectric properties in the form of insulations.
Flexible, durable and strong, Mylar lends itself to many different applications in thermal and electric insulations industry. Due to Mylar containing no plasticizes it also means it has good ageing properties meaning it will not go brittle over a long duration of time.
Mylar has excellent resistance to both moisture and certain chemicals. Furthermore, Mylar has a good temperature prevail ranging from -70°C to +150°C.
We currently supply a vast range of mylar insulations to many well known white goods household names.
- Good ageing properties – will not deteriorate over time.
- Flexible and strong – Mylar has a good tensile strength as well as dimensional stability.
- Good dielectric properties – meaning it is a cheap choice of material for both thermal and electrical insulations.
- Available in a variety of gauges – washers, gaskets and strip can all be manufactured from 12 micron up to 350 micron.
RH Nuttall Limited can manufacture washers, gaskets, seals and insulations from Mylar in a transparent and/or opaque colour.
