Most common base materials, including red and black vulcanized fibre, nylon, PTFE, and more, are readily available in stock. These materials are either stripped and manually fed or supplied via continuous coil feeds, ensuring optimal efficiency and minimal waste.
While setup times for automatic fly presses are more involved due to the automatic feed system, once configured, production runs smoothly. After an initial quality check, an operator manages the machine, using a foot pedal to control the material feed and stamping process.
Unlike manual fly presses, automatic fly press tooling follows a “follow-on” cutting process—first piercing the inner diameter, then cutting the outer diameter. This method ensures perfect concentricity, with each washer meeting strict quality standards before approval.
