Applications for EPDM sponge gaskets
EPDM sponge is a very universal base material product. It is widely recognised throughout the automotive, electronic, glazing and construction trades. A relatively cheap base material, and even slightly cheaper than neoprene sponge, EPDM sponge is deemed a good choice for applications including weather strips, glazing seals, jointing expansion, anti-vibration and shock absorbers.
Our range of EPDM sponge gaskets are also commonly used throughout the garden equipment industry, as well as solar panels and speaker liners.
EPDM sponge gaskets are used widely through the automotive trade too. Most window seals and boot/bonnet seals are made from EPDM gaskets. Internal door furniture of cars also has EPDM sponge gaskets within them, mainly as seals or noise absorbers to alleviate those annoying rattles.
Our standard range of EPDM sponge gaskets are supplied as a medium density foam as standard. However, firm and soft density grades of EPDM sponge gaskets are also available depending on the application.
Firm grade EPDM sponge gaskets are supplied mainly when two heavy surfaces are clamping down onto the gaskets, but only little compression is required to seal. Whereas soft grade neoprene sponge gaskets can be manufactured where little compression is required to make a perfect seal.
Free EPDM sponge gasket samples available
Samples of our EPDM sponge gaskets can be made and sent off to you free of charge to test on your application prior to committing to a bulk order. Even if you have a custom shape or size, normally tooling is inexpensive and samples can be produced at extremely cost effective prices.
Bespoke and custom EPDM sponge gaskets available
Bespoke EPDM sponge gaskets are manufactured by RH Nuttall at our UK based factory. If you have a certain application then we can accommodate tooling to suit. Whether it is a plain shape or a more intricate gasket with holes or slots then these can be produced too.
