Electrical or dielectric insulations are usually manufactured from a material that restricts the flow of electric current.

They intend to support or separate the electrical conductors without passing a current through themselves.

Materials such as Presspahn, Mylar, PTFE, some foam based products, or Nomex gaskets can be used to guard electrical contacts / conductors from coming into contact with tools or fingers.

Washers, gaskets, seals, and strips produced from the following materials can provide excellent insulations for electrical applications.

Furthermore, RH Nuttall Limited can produce these insulations with creases or bend lines, or perforations can also be added to facilitate folding into a three dimensional shape.

This has a massive positive affect in the insulation process.

Presspahn

RH Nuttall supply a range of washers, gaskets, and insulations in Presspahn. Officially titled Elephantide® Grade K, presspahn is a made from 100% electrical grade kraft wood pulp.

It is supplied in natural buff colour and is available in thicknesses from 5 thou to 30 thou.

Presspahn washers, gaskets, strips or plain sheets can be manufactured to provide a cheap electrical insulation solution.

Mylar A

RH Nuttall Limited produce a range of insulations in forms of washers and gaskets in mylar. This is a polyester film based material and is a flexible strong and durable film with an unusual balance of properties making it suitable for many industrial applications. We currently supply a vast range of mylar insulations to many well known white goods household names.

Nomex 410

RH Nuttall produce a range of insulations in forms of washers and gaskets in nomex 410. This is the original form of Nomex® paper, and is widely used in a majority of electrical equipment applications. Our range of nomex 410 insulations have high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and resilience.

 Vulcanised Fibre

RH Nuttall produce a range of insulations in forms of washers and gaskets in vulcanised fibre. Vulcanised fibre has excellent tear strength, good abrasion resistance and outstanding dielectric properties. Fibre washers, gaskets, strip and sheet types of insulation have been preferred to many other electrical insulation material types for many years due to its relative cheapness.

PTFE

RH Nuttall produce a range of insulations in forms of washers and gaskets in PTFE.

PTFE is one of the best thermally established and non-conducting plastic materials making it suitable for electrical insulators in circuit boards. PTFE can be supplied in cut gasket, washer, or strip to provide insulation against a variety of different applications.

Elephantide / Polyester laminate

RH Nuttall Limited produce a range of insulations in forms of washers and gaskets in elephantide/polyester laminate. These have traditionally been supplied to oven and cooker companies to aid in the electrical insulation process in numerous parts throughout the appliance.

Valox

RH Nuttall Limited produce a range of insulation gaskets in Valox. Valox flame retardant film (FR1) offers excellent insulation to a host of electrical applications. Self-adhesive backing can be applied to any Valox gasket. Valox FR1 is available in thicknesses of 0.075mm to 0.75mm.
