Introduction
This report looks at how much industrial users pay for electricity in some of the world’s biggest economies. We focus on large manufacturing and industrial companies and compare prices by converting everything into US dollars per kilowatt-hour (USD/kWh) so it’s easy to see how they stack up against each other.
Methodology
Most of the data comes from the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) 2025 Energy Prices report. We’ve also checked official figures published by government agencies and energy regulators to fill in any gaps.
The prices reflect the full cost businesses pay for electricity, including taxes and fees, but don’t count VAT.
To keep things fair, all prices have been converted into US dollars based on average exchange rates over 2024 and 2025.
We’ve left out countries where the data wasn’t reliable or complete enough to include.

Disclaimer
Getting exact industrial electricity prices is tricky. We’ve tried our best but… Lots of things affect the cost: local taxes, energy sources, contracts, and consumption levels – and prices can change quickly.
The numbers here are the best estimates based on reliable sources, but they won’t be exact for every business or region.
