Our nitrile washers are made from a high grade of Nitrile rubber and are built to withstand the majority of aromatic oil and unleaded fuel applications.

Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) or more commonly known as Nitrile rubber is a specialised based material and is particularly suited to a wide range of sealing applications.

Application specific Nitrile washers

At RH Nuttall we ensure the correct grade of Nitrile rubber is chosen in order to provide the most effective washer for the application.

Certain grades of Nitrile rubber are better at resisting chemicals that other, whilst different grades again are suited to maintaining performance when exposed to extreme temperatures and resisting the corrosive nature of certain acids.

Our standard nitrile rubber washers are supplied in 70SH hardness, but 80SH nitrile rubber washers are also readily available depending on the thickness of the base material required.

Hardness can play an important role in sealing with compression and torque rates crucial to gaining successful results. Our dedicated sales team are always available to give advice where necessary.

Thicknesses of Nitrile washers available

Thicknesses of our Nitrile washers can be from 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 20mm, 25mm and right up to 50mm in thickness, but this normally depends on our stock of base material at any given time, as well as the density and grade of Nitrile required.

Applications for Nitrile washers

Nitrile washers are predominantly used throughout the automotive and aeronautical trades when sealing against oils and/or petrol.

Due to the fantastic temperature prevail that nitrile rubber has compared to other similar base rubber materials, our NBR washers are used widely throughout the aerospace industry. Nitrile rubber is also preferred to other natural rubber base materials when acids are present within a specific application.
