R.H.Nuttall can offer a range of washers, gaskets, seals and insulations to suit every requirement. Products can be tailored to withstand weathering, chemical exposure, extremes of pressure, temperature pH and moisture.

We can also assemble and form many compound or three-dimensional parts with the ability to jig, rivet eyelet or otherwise fasten components to save your labour costs.

Generally used for sealing and spacing, washers can be manufactured to a high degree of accuracy in most materials.

R.H.Nuttall has over six thousand individual sizes available without the need for new tooling. The thickness can range from 0.2mm to around 6mm. Many of our commonly used materials can be stained for aesthetic or identification purposes. Fibre washers can be waxed, Klingersil washers can have Graphite powder applied.

We also manufacture a number of special washers with splines, shaped or notched insides, and/or outsides. Materials can be adhesive-backed with a variety of tapes, or even laminated to form composites.

Gaskets.
Gaskets can be produced in a limitless number of shapes and sizes from simple rounds to complicated shapes with many slits, slots, cut-outs and holes to allow for fitment over studs and pins. Creases or perforations can be added to create a flat 'net' for folding into a three-dimensional shape.

Many of the materials used can be laminated or adhesive backed in a variety of tapes, aluminium foil encapsulated or dust suppressed……

Gaskets can be stained for aesthetic or identification purposes. Material thickness varies from 0.005" to 60mm, and gasket sizes can be anything up to 2 meters.

Foam seals or strips can be produced in widths from 4mm upwards, with thicknesses sometimes up to around 50mm, and almost any length. Most customers request adhesive backing for ease of assembly.

Seals and strips can be cut on travelling head presses, kiss-cutters or rotary slitting machines.

Profiled silicone extrusions are also available.

Insulations:- Electrical.
Presspahn or Nomex gaskets can be used to guard electrical contacts / conductors from coming into contact with tools or fingers. Creases and perforations can be added to facilitate folding into a three dimensional shape.

Insulations:-Thermal.
Refractory Ceramic Fibre board is commonly used to insulate gas fire backs, the parts can be dust-suppressed with a spray-on sealant.

Ceramic paper or mineral paper are versatile materials that can be used for insulations or gaskets in a variety of appliances.

Needlemat or Ceramic Blanket may be wrapped around a number of the components of a product to protect from excessive heat transfer, for example around the inner cooking area of a domestic oven. The material can be aluminium foil coated / fully encapsulated.

Removing the paper from adhesive-backed parts can cause problems on the assembly line.

For trouble -free and speedy assembly work, ask us to kiss-cut your washers or gaskets. The components are produced on a roll of release paper with the external scrap removed if you want.

The action of separating the part from its backing is several times faster.

Assembly and Forming
In addition to cut parts R.H. Nuttall has an in-house assembly and forming facility.

Components can be folded, jigged, pinned, riveted and stuck.

Many of our customers prefer to take delivery of a finished item which can go straight to the final production line. This simplifies their operations ,saving them time and money.

We also weigh, count and bag up kits or small numbers of parts for specific purposes, again saving your labour costs.
